Hey Isaac, I just wanted to congratulate you on the great pieces of music. They truly are inspiring.

I’m picking up the piano after not having touched it for maybe 12 years (I’m not as old as that comment might seem, I played a bit at the age 7-8 and now I’m nearly 20), and most of your pieces are definitely pieces I’m going to try to add to my repetoire. I’m working on “Sprinkle to rain” right now, and while I’m still so new to the instrument that I have to struggle to progress (I spent 2 days just on measure 94 and 95), I am progressing nonetheless. I hope that in a few weeks, I’ll have the piece nailed down and be ready to move on to the next glorious composition (likely going to be either “Before Dawn” or “Felicity”, but who knows!).

So keep up the good work! Your music is great, and the atmospheres they manage to conjure forth are, in short, magical. And being able to call yourself a magician through music is certainly something you should be proud of!

Actually Christian, that is a common thing you’ll encounter in sheet music, it’s so it’s easier to read most of the time. Without it, the notes might have been high out of the staff and I don’t know about you, but I find it easier to read music on sight when it’s in the staff.

Also, notice the 8s above and below the treble clefs, an 8 above a clef means it’s an octave higher, and an 8 below the clef means it’s an octave lower.

I love your music. Leaves in the Wind is a song i have just started learning how to play, but with only one or two years of experience, i will never play at your level
But on the sheet music, i noticed that the first two lines for the left hand are written in trebel clef instead of bass clef. I believe that it should be in bass clef, but i am not completely sure. I am not very “tone” efficient (i cant determine pitches with only my ears).
Just wanted to let you know!
I was also wondering if you do video online lessons? Like pre recorded things about how to play your songs? Thank you so much, your music is amazing

Isaac, as a keen pianist I think your music is some of the most expressive music i’ve ever heard. I have recently started playing leaves in the wind, and i dont think I will ever get the piece to the level of atmosphere and emotion at which you can play it. I am also an Einaudi fan, but after hearing your music I believe that you top his music. I would however like to hear some faster music, similar to ‘Big my secret’ by Nyman.

You seriously are awesome

Mr. Shepard, I heard your songs in a game one time and immediately fell in love with them and looked them up. I’m happy to say that you are now my favorite modern pianist. I listen to your songs when I’m in a bad mood or stressed or worried, and I always end up happy and relaxed. I also listen to them when I go to bed, and it gives me good dreams, and I wake up humming them in the morning. I’m planning on learning to play these and showing them to my piano teacher in hopes that I can play them at a recital or something. Also, they’ve inspired me with new themes for compositions, which I’m very happy about, seeing as mine tend to be very repetitious.
Anyway, I’d just like to say that these are some of the most beautiful, expressive pieces I’ve ever heard, and thank you so much for sharing them with us!
