“Tout Est Si Beau”, also known as “How Fair This Place”, was written by Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943). I did the piano arrangement and performance for this piece, a fitting background to Amethyste’s airy vocals. Amethyste created the French adaption:

Tout est si beau!
(All is beautiful!)
Je vois les feuilles qui dansent avec le vent.
(I see leaves dancing with the wind)
Les fleurs murmurent si doucement
(Flowers, softly whisper)
A propos du beau temps.
(about the joy of life)

Le firmament
(The Firmament)

“Tout Est Si Beau” is only one track of 16 on Amethyste’s ambient “Deliverance” album, so make sure to check out the rest of her album. The album is well over an hour long and is full of different sound textures and Amethyste’s soft voice. I recommend this album to anyone who is looking for meditative, reflective and soul searching music. “Deliverance” creates a soft, hopeful and healing mood that is very much needed in these chaotic times.

I composed and performed all of the Victorian-esque music for the game.

I’m proud to offer all of the music from the game, which is mostly piano and strings, for free on my website! You can listen to all of the songs by streaming them through my online music player, or you can download the MP3′s directly from my Matches & Matrimony page.

Take the starring role in Jane Austen’s most popular novels as you become one of the Bennet sisters in search of a husband. Will you pursue Mr. Bingley, whose good nature has already endeared him to your sister, or perhaps Mr. Darcy, the famous protagonist from Pride and Prejudice? The narrative of Matches & Matrimony comes from the combining of 3 different novels, allowing you to create new storylines from Miss Austen’s most famous works! As you play, you will pick your daily routine to improve your characteristics, and then select your own path through the intersecting stories. With 9 different endings to be discovered, Matches & Matrimony can be played again and again as you create your own tale of classic romance.

You know what is interesting? I’ve been waiting to post this music for a good two years now! Yep, that’s right: I finished the music back in early 2009, but for various reasons the game wasn’t completed and published until now. Hopefully the music is more like good wine or fine cheese, aging well with time! ;-)

At any rate, I’m excited to finally be able to offer the music to everyone. You’ll find a lot of lighthearted tracks, as well as a few melancholy ones. Some are a little dramatic, but most songs in the game are soothing. The songs are predominantly piano, but unlike my other solo piano albums like Awaken or The Renewing, these tracks include quite a bit of strings.
